A.     MODELLING OF TEXT

A Recount is a text that retells past events, usually in the order in which they happened. There are 2 types of text Recount: Personal Recount (real or imaginative) and Factual Recount (News item, Historical account, and Science Experiment). When you tell or write what you experienced in the past, it means that you make a recount. The purpose of a recount text is to give a description of what happened and when it happened.

The steps of producing a Personal Recount text are:

v  Orientation : a paragraph that gives background information about who was the participant (first person), what happened, where it happened, and when it happened.

v  Series of events : a series of paragraphs that retell events in the order in which they happened.

v  Reorientation : a paragraph which gives the personal comments or impressions of the participant.

B.      EXAMPLE

1.   Holiday to Tawangmangu

On last month I and my large family went to Tawangmangu. We left from klaten at 7 in the morning. We went there by car. On the wat there, I listen to music while singing in order not boring and sleepy.

We arrived in Tawangmangu at 10 in the morning. WQe directly visited waterfall Tawangmangu “Grojogan Sewu”. There are many people who offered the horse to wander around area Tawangmangu. Before to the waterfall Grojogan Sewu I, my mother, and my aunt bought flip flops because of the way toward the stairs Grojogan Sewu have as much 1220. After that old enough, we finally arrived in grojogan Sewu. I and my sister go down to the river near the waterfall for water play. There river water is cold and there is quite heavy. While other enjoy the beautiful scenery and take picture. After a few hours later, before we headed back to at a restaurant.

Then at fourteen afternoon we went to Klaten. We felt so tired but happy.

2.   Saw Carnival Kudus City Culture

Yesterday on the Tuesday afternoon, I and my friend went to the Kudus city square to saw the carnival culture. We went there by bicycle a rided. On the way to the city square, the roaded was very crowded and jammed. Fortunately we ride bicycle.

When, Suddenly one of my friend fell down because she was not careful. Then I stopped to help, but fortunately not seriously injured. The we continued our journey and on arrival at the parking area we leave the bicycle and walked toward the city square. After that old enough, finally we arrived at the square. We then find a comfortable place. In the carnival we saw there is a someone tells about the Kudus city culture. A few hours later, after the parade finished, we bought drank at a small food stall nearby because we felt so thirsty.

Then we went home at 5 p.m. Although it was very tired but that was very enjoyable for me.

3.    Visited to Yogyakarta

Last year holiday, my family and I went on a recreation to Yogyakarta. We went there by motorcycle from Solo at morning. We stayed at my uncle house.

On Saturday, we interested went to Prambanan Temple. We enjoyed the scenic view with its temple and ate lunch there. We had traditional foods like gudangan, tempe bacem, lotes, and fried rice. Before we went to my uncle house then we continued our to market bakpia D’Java. There we bought food geplak and bakpia for souvenirs.

Next day, we went to Taman Pintar. We saw many kinds of historical of the Indonesian heroes. There can learn science while playing. After that we had shopping at Malioboro. My mother bought a beautiful frame. My father and my brother did not want to buy anything. I bought thirst and some souvenir for my best friend in kudus. In the afternoon we went to my uncle house.

On monday morning, we said goodbye to our my uncle family and went to grandparents’s home.

I really enjoyed my holiday it was fun.
